In this article, you’ll learn how to create your ArbiterPay account and complete the step-by-step verification process. There are multiple ways to create an ArbiterPay account, whether you’re an official or an event worker. Use the Sections below as a guide to find the areas where you may need the most help.

What should you do if a person cannot be found by phone number?
Set Up a Pay Account
- Sign in to Arbiter.
- Click Payments.
- Click Set up Pay Account.
- Click Continue.
- If there are any red triangle-exclamation icons, it means you have missing personal information on your profile.
- Click Edit Info and add the missing information.
- If all Personal Information has been added, click Continue.
Setting Up a Pay Account for Event Workers
Event Workers invited by a school will receive an email welcoming them to ArbiterSports. To create an ArbiterPay account, begin by following the steps below.
- Go to www.ArbiterSports.com.
- Click Sign In.
- Click Sign In Now on ArbiterSports.
- Click Forget Password.
- Enter your email and click Send verification code.
Note: It is important that you do not close your ArbiterSports tab while getting your code, or you will need to restart the process.
- Open your email inbox.
- Find the email with the subject line "Forgot your password?"
- Copy the ArbiterSports verification code.
- Enter or paste verification code and click Verify code.
- After logging in successfully, you will be brought to the "Set Up Payments" page. Follow the steps on Set Up a Pay Account, step 3.
Identity Verification Information
Identity Verification: Note: You must have a mobile device with an internet connection and a camera to complete the verification process.
- Read and follow the instructions under "What you should know" and click Continue.
- Click the dropdown menu, select the country, and click Continue.
- Enter your cell phone number and click Send verification code.
- Enter the five-digit code sent to your cell phone and click Continue.
- Enter your first and last name as shown on your government issued ID and click Continue.
- Enter your date of birth as shown on your government-issued ID and click Continue.
- Enter your home address and click Continue.
Note: This address should be where you live, not just a mailbox.
- Enter the last four digits of your Social Security Number and click Continue.
- Scan the QR Code.
- Open your phone’s camera app.
- Point the camera at the QR code to start the verification process on your phone.
Note: If you have trouble with the QR code, click Send link to phone to receive a link via text message to begin the verification process.
Cell Phone Identity Verification Process
After scanning the QR Code, you will complete the verification process on your cell phone.
- Select one of the following identity document types.
- Click Capture Photo.
- Your mobile device will ask permission to allow access to your camera. Click Allow.
- Point your phone’s camera at your government-issued ID. Ensure it is properly aligned and well- lit. Then, click Take Photo.
- Flip your government- issued ID. Ensure it is properly aligned and well-lit and click Take Photo.
- After taking photos of your government-issued ID, the images will begin uploading. Keep this page open and wait for the upload to be completed.
- You will begin the second process of the identity verification by taking a “Selfie.” Click Allow camera access.
- Your mobile phone will ask permission to allow access to your front-facing camera. Click Allow, and follow the instructions promptly.
After completing the verification process from your phone, you will be asked to close your phone’s web browser and return to the desktop website.
Create a PIN
After finishing the verification process, create and confirm a PIN. Then, click Finish.
Set Up a Pay Account During the Registration Process
You may also have the option to sign up for a Pay account during registration. If your state organization allows this, you’ll see an ArbiterPay step included in your yearly registration process. (Note: If you already have a Pay account, this step will not appear.) The setup process for creating a Pay account during registration is the same as setting it up from the Payments tab. Click Set Up Pay Account for more information.
Set Up a Pay Account for Minors
- Follow the instructions exactly as presented under the Set Up Pay Account section.
- Then, follow the instructions under Identity Verification for Minors.
Identity Verification for Minors
Minors do not complete identity verification; however, the verification must be completed by a parent or guardian who is over the age of 18.
- Identity Verification:
- Read and follow the instructions under "What you should know."
- After reviewing the terms, check mark box to give consent.
- Click Continue.
IMPORTANT: Enter the parent or guardian’s information for the identify verification.
- Follow steps under Identity Verification Information and Cell Phone Identity Verification Process.
- After finishing the verification process, create and confirm a PIN and click Finish.
If your child’s account is pending review, our verification team will reach out to you for further information. Please review Pending Status for more information.
What to Do If You Can't Complete Verification?
If you encounter a “Whoops!” page, you may need to repeat the verification process.
- Click Continue to restart the verification process.
If you still cannot complete the verification process successfully, your account will be placed in pending status, and our verification team will contact you to assist with the next steps.
Pending Status
If your state requires a Pay account to complete registration, you’ll need to successfully finish the setup process. If your account is pending review, you won’t be able to complete registration until our verification team reaches out to you.
If multiple attempts to verify your identity through Plaid are unsuccessful, click Continue to proceed. Our verification team will then contact you to assist with setting up your ArbiterPay account.
What should you do if a person cannot be found by phone number?
If we cannot find the person based on their phone number at the beginning of the identity verification process, you will be prompted to update your information.
If Plaid locates the person using their phone number, it will display their address and social security information for confirmation. If any information is incorrect or needs updating, they can click Update Information to make changes.
