2025 Release Notes

Welcome to the 2025 Release Notes!

Every other Wednesday, Arbiter’s Product Team works hard to roll out new updates across all Arbiter products. Each release is called a Sprint—a collaboration of product owners, developers, designers, and engineers who come together to brainstorm ways to make our products more user-friendly, valuable, and best-in-class.

Under the Sections menu, click on the date of the Sprint release to view what was changed, updated, fixed, or newly created on that day.

Click on images to enhance if necessary.

Student Registration

New

We’re excited to launch our partnership with Vertical Insure (Vi) this release. This new offering provides families with the opportunity to purchase Accident & Injury Insurance during Athletic registrations, reimbursing up to $5,000 for out-of-pocket medical costs from injuries during activities.

How It Works

  • Available for Athletic type programs in Student Registration.
  • Registrants can opt in, complete payment during registration, and receive policy details via email.

Arbiter Mobile Updates

  • Fans should be able to see Games, Practices, Rosters, and Coaches of any teams from a school.
  • Officials can see Assigner details and school contact information in the mobile app when viewing their game details.

Payment

Fixes

  • Some schools were getting a failed payment error when trying to execute payments. This has been resolved, and all valid payments should go through again.

  • The payment details report was not always including event workers. This has been fixed.

  • Some assigners publish their own 1099s. For those doing that, some of them were getting stuck in processing. We reset those and figured out the issue and put a fix in place.

  • There are times when a user needs to request a new Arbiter Pay prepaid card after their old one was lost or expired. There was an issue with requesting a new card that has been fixed.

Student Registration

New

High-level account data-points are now being sent to ArbiterGame to enable a dashboard build for 360 and other ‘parent’ level organizations. This includes Total Accounts, Account status, and other Account information such as number of registrations, registration type, and organization ID.

Improvements

  • You can now use the "Save and Continue" button in a report's page view to update a participant's status and be automatically redirected to the next participant in the report. Previously, this process required manually navigating back to the next participant from the table view. This enhancement streamlines your workflow, saving time and effort.
  • The following security measures were put into place due to an abundance of spam accounts being created: Names containing Chinese, Japanese, or Korean (CJK) characters or numbers over 99 will now trigger an error and require correction before saving. Additionally, first and last names are limited to 26 characters to ensure accurate and standardized account data.

Fixes

  • We’ve resolved an issue in the Injury Management feature where attendance dates were sometimes incorrectly recorded as the following day. This was caused by the system using Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). The time zone has now been updated to Pacific Time to better align with our customers' needs and ensure accurate date logging.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where users were unable to save prices with decimals when for add-ons in subscriptions. Previously, decimal values would either round down to the nearest whole number or fail to save entirely. You can now successfully enter and save prices with decimal values for add-ons.

Scheduling

We’re excited to share that Arbiter is enhancing how games are archived to help you retain information, reuse game numbers, and maintain a cleaner account.

What's New:

  • Archive Games with Data: Games can now be archived even if they have attached data (paysheets, evaluations, penalty reports). You no longer need to delete key information when resetting for the new year.

  • Reusing Game IDs: Once a game moves to the Archived Games page, its original Game ID can be reused—including Game ID 1.

  • Comprehensive Payment Reports: Payment reports will display all games connected to those payments for better tracking.

  • No Permanent Deletions: Games on the Archived Games page can’t be permanently removed, as reusing game numbers eliminates this need.

  • Simplified Game Removal: Clicking the trashcan will remove the game from your schedule but keep it accessible on the Archived Games page.

  • Restore Archived Games: You can restore games with attached data (officials, paysheets, evaluations, etc. when needed.

Arbiter360

Title IX Reporting

We’re excited to announce a new feature in Arbiter – Title IX reporting! This feature is available to all Arbiter360 clients and supports state-to-school level Title IX reporting. States can now set up a template for their schools to capture information related to gender proportionality, financial information, facility checks, and student surveys.

This new feature will help states support their schools in their efforts to foster an equitable athletic environment for all their student athletes. Additionally, it will provide the tools needed at the state office to quickly see how schools are progressing with their report, and who may need follow up.

Initially, we are just rolling out the Financials section, but we will continue to develop the other areas to support comprehensive Title IX reporting. Stay tuned for more updates!

  • Android users were unable to scroll through the State selection when searching for a school in the app

Student Registration

New

The Report page for the Table and Page View has been updated and streamlined to make it easier to both view and organize.

Improvements

Account security has been improved with additional validation for the first and last name of the account user. It will now check for characters and numbers that aren't normally used in names, returning an error for any incorrect usage.

Fixes

  • We've resolved an issue where updating certain fields within the parent/guardian form block would remove information such as phone numbers and emails from that area
  • Logic has been updated so that using the Save and Continue button within the edit page of a participant sends the user back to that participant's view page, instead of the next participant in the program

Sprint 504 (3/5/2025)

Scheduling

State Association Schedule Enforcement

State Associations can now set by-law rules for when member schools are able to add or edit games. A message can be provided by the State Association for schools to follow a process for any games that need to be added or edited within the date range the State rules.

1.webp

Fixes

  • Schools were unable to create any Teams in their ArbiterGame account if it was a brand-new entity.
  • When texting partners in the app, the whole crew was not being included in the mass text option.
  • Officials were unable to see games on their schedule if they had a pending group invite from the group assigning them games.
  • Users were receiving a blank white screen in the app after logging in.

Users and Designated Representative Staff Role

We've added a new role for school staff. Designated Representatives can now be added. By default, these users will have the same permissions as the Principal, but this can be customized if needed

2.png

Eligibility & Registration (Officials)

Eligibility Badges

If an official is certified for multiple eligibilities for the same sport, they should now see all badges for those sports on the People page instead of just one badge per sport. We will still only show the highest level of achievement per eligibility.

Student Registration

New

The email signatures have been updated with our new branding and logo.

Improvements

  • In the Page View of a registration, the Save and Continue button previously navigated to the next registrant. Based on user feedback, it will now remain on the updated registration’s Page View after saving.
  • Step-Father and Step-Mother have now been included as additional options in the Parent/Caregiver area of programs.

3.png

Fixes

  • A bug affecting the Custodial field in the Parent/Guardian section of registration forms has been fixed. Previously, selecting this field could remove parent/guardian details, including phone numbers and emails, and saved selections wouldn’t display when editing. These issues have been resolved, ensuring all information remains intact and selections are properly shown when revisiting the form.
  • When mass updating student data in the student list in ArbiterGame, users were receiving an error message due to graduation year being invalid. Students can be mass updated now without providing a graduation year.

Sprint 505 (3/19/2025)

Scheduling

ArbiterGame+Facility Scheduler Integration

Seamlessly sync your events between ArbiterGame and Facility Scheduler—no more double-entry, no more double-bookings!

  • This first phase of the integration will send data from ArbiterGame to Facility Scheduler. Phase two, set for later this year, will include sending data both ways.

Mobile App Upgrade

The full sport name will now show for an official when viewing the game details of an assigned game.

Bug Fixes

Assigners were receiving an error message when looking up sites to add a new site. Assigners should be able to filter for sites within a mileage range.

Payments

Instant Transfers

Instant Transfer is BACK! Officials and Event Workers paid via Arbiter Pay will be able to choose Instant Transfer to get their funds immediately. This is a fan favorite and is now backed with even more security to keep everyone safe. This is a new, fast option but all other transfer options are still available if you prefer the free, 1-3 business day method.

Sprint 506 (4/2/2025)

Scheduling

Making changes to Sports/Levels/Positions

We've made it easier for assigners to manage their scheduling account by allowing sports, levels, and positions to be updated while there are still existing games.

  • If a game is Restored from the Archived page, any deleted sport, level, or position used on that game would be restored to the assigner's account.
  • Assigners can remove sports, levels, and positions without needing to delete any prior paysheets, evaluations, or penalty reports

Exciting updates to our Arbiter Game and Facility Scheduler integration

Clean up, tear down, event type, and any event notes will now be included as part of the details sent over from Arbiter Game to Facility Scheduler

  • State Associations having their Schools register through Arbiter will now be able to charge fees based on Enrollment Count
  • State Associations will also be able to require consent from the school for any necessary forms during School Registration.

New & Improved: Arbiter Registration Reports Page

We’ve redesigned the Reports page in Arbiter Registration to give you a faster, more flexible, and more intuitive experience. Whether you're tracking participation, filtering data, or reaching out to families—everything is now easier and more efficient.

  • Customize Your View - Take control of how your data is displayed:
    • Sort any column with one click
    • Filter specific values using the new funnel icons
    • Reorder columns by dragging and dropping them
    • Reset your view at any time with “Clear Filters”
  • Streamlined Drop-Down Menus -
    • Toggle between page and table view from the top left
    • All download options are grouped together
    • Links adjust automatically based on your report type
  • Select-All Persists Across Pages
    • Select participants across multiple pages—no more selecting page by page. Once you’ve made your selections, use Edit Selected or Email/Text Selected at the top of your report to take action.
  • Send Emails to the Right People
    • Now you can choose exactly who receives report-based emails. No more defaulting to just the account owner. Just make sure the recipient’s email address is captured during registration.

Scheduling

Practice Notifications in Arbiter Live

Team followers will now receive notifications in Arbiter Live reminding them about practice times and locations, ensuring parents stay updated.

View Team Contacts in Arbiter One

Assigners and officials can now click on a team in Arbiter One to view the Athletic Director or Head Coaches of the associated teams, making it easier to access team contacts.

USSF Re-Sync

Assigners using the USSF integration can now re-sync an official's Arbiter account with the Learning Center to get the latest updates for that official. The re-sync option is available on the official's profile from the Monitor Eligibility page or People page, under Additional Information.

1.png

Mapping Preferences in the App

Users can now choose their preferred map app when clicking on a location in the Arbiter app for directions, offering more flexibility.

Improvements

Fixed an issue where schools were showing as duplicates on the Schools Report for State Associations.

Eligibility & Registration (Officials)

Years of Experience

Arbiter now automatically tracks officials' years of experience. As officials register each year we will add a year of experience to their profile on a sport-by-sport basis. This is also organization specific. For example, I may live on the Washington Oregon border and officiate in both states. I may also officiate multiple sports. So, it's possible that I have different years of experience between states and sports. We'll keep track of all of that, and if your state wants to bring in historic data from before you used Arbiter's Registration product, we can support that too.

In-Person Event Eligibility Tracking

We fixed an issue where in-person event attendance was not being tracked on eligibility.

Student Registration

Improvements

We are excited to include the addition of a “Columns” dropdown to filter your Report. This allows users to further customize what data shows limiting the navigational efforts.

2.png

Fixes

We fixed an issue for Mac users regarding the horizontal scroll bar on the Reports page.

Facility Scheduler

Search by Event Name

Finding events on your calendar just got simpler. You can now search by event name on the monthly view, so if you know what you're looking for, you can get to it faster—no extra clicks or scrolling needed.

This update is especially helpful for District and School Administrators who want quick, real-time results while checking what’s happening across schools. Less time searching, more time planning!
