Adding a Team Using a Newly Released Level

With the release of new team levels (JV2, B-Team, Modified) on March 18, 2026, schools that are currently using an existing team at a different or generic level will need to create a new team using the correct level and then merge their existing team into it.

This process ensures your schedules, coaches, and rosters are preserved while updating the team to the correct level.

Step 1: Create a New Team Using the New Level

  1. Navigate to Settings → Teams in Arbiter Game.
  2. Click Add Team.
  3. Select the appropriate Sport.
  4. Choose one of the newly released levels (JV2, B-Team, Modified) from the Level drop-down.
  5. Complete all required team defaults (season, gender, home facility, etc.).
  6. Save the new team.

✅ This new team will become your “destination” team.

Step 2: Merge Your Existing Team into the New Team

Once the new team has been created:

  1. Locate the existing team you were previously using.
  2. Select the option to Merge Team.
  3. Choose the newly created team as the team to merge into.

Merging will move the following from the existing team to the new team:

  • Schedules and games
  • Coaches
  • Rosters

⚠️ After the merge is complete, the old team will no longer be used.

Step 3: Update the Default Assigning Group

After merging, it is critical to verify the team’s assigning setup.

  1. Open the new team.
  2. Review the Default Assigning Group.
  3. Confirm that the assigning level matches the new team level (JV2, B-Team, Modified).

If the assigning level does not match, officials may not be assigned correctly.

If You Do Not See the New Level in Assigning

If the correct assigning level is not available:

  • Contact your assigner and request an update.

Assigners will need to do one of the following:

  • Create a new level in their assigning group that matches the newly added level, or
  • Modify an existing level and change its generic level to one of the newly released levels

Once the assigner updates their levels, the correct option will be available for your team.

Summary

To move to a newly released level:

  1. Create a new team using the correct level
  2. Merge your existing team into the new team
  3. Verify and update the Default Assigning Group

Following these steps ensures your team is aligned with the new level while keeping all historical and active data intact.
